In “Noukadubi,” the protagonist, Ramesh, finds himself embroiled in a series of life-altering events after his ship encounters a storm and he is forced to take refuge in a nearby town. There, he meets and falls in love with Hemnalini, the daughter of a wealthy family. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Ramesh is separated from Hemnalini and ends up marrying another woman, Kamala, while mistakenly believing Hemnalini to be dead.
